Susie's Little Skate Song

[ Susie's Little Skate Song and Glow both appeared on separate volumes of Susie's Skate Party soundtrack, the former showing up on the disco party disc while the latter was released on the new-wave party disc. Juggernaut was recorded for an online, fan-based tribute to Clutch which never happened because the guy that organized it all was a no good cheat. ]

Audio Tape:

album cover

Release Date: July 1998
Contributors: Brian K. Jason L. Keith L. Kyle C.
Specifications: Cassette
[ No two copies of this cassette featured the same songs.
Most of the tracks were re-mixed and later appeared on Pre-Production Theory.
This cassette served as a crash course on how not to: write songs, mix songs, etc.
There is essentially no stereo image, and it is muddier than a lake bed. Unlistenable!

Learning to Love the Fallout:

Sound Through a Vacuum - Live from Mir:

[ This was recorded live at rock 'n roll HQ, Mir, during the Re-Entry practice sessions. This recording is entirely instrumental, and lower-fi than all imitators! It was captured on 1/4" tape using an antique Roberts reel-to-reel and 7 inch spools. Italicized tracks indicate interludes, some of which feature pieces of other songs. The best jams were lost to faulty equipment, including Feed You to Satan (which later was rewritten as Of Corpses...). Punk Rock Blue Jay was later rewritten as Jersey Devil. ]

Re-Entry EP:

album cover

Release Date: November 2002
Contributors: Jason L. Keith L. Kyle C. Shaun Y. p16.

4. Castaway

[ This EP represents tGDM's first professional recording: Recorded, mixed, and mastered in Cleveland OH, September 23 - October 29, 2002.
Belter's Blues features a spontaneous casio keyboard solo by Jason. Castaway features an derelict Minimoog during the dance break. p16 created two packaging concepts for this EP. The first 50 featured a full-color homage to 1950s sci-fi pulp. The second run featured a more technical, hard-science approach. Jason created one, 3" packaging concept for this EP for early distribution. It featured very hard-science imagery, including particle accelerators & fusion chambers. This 3" promo included Hale Porse (Live) as an unlisted bonus track. ]

This instrumental record was captured via MD8 using only five microphones. - Three mics were placed on the drums, although the kick mic failed. - Each guitar cabinet was allocated one mic. - Bass was captured using the Mesa/Boogie V1 as a DI box. The synthesizer parts were over-dubbed the following day. ]

3. The Great Northwestern Tragedy
4. Modern Day Prometheus
5. Jersey Devil
6. Cobwebs and Cadavers
7. Last Minutes

[ Lusus Naturae ("Freak of Nature") was technically recorded from 2003 - 2005. Most of the songs were written in 2004. All songs are about the paranormal. This EP marked the first time tGDM recorded songs in rough draft form. Songs were then re-recorded weeks later as polished forms. The results were the most developed tGDM songs to date. The packaging was equally ambitious, with only ten manufactured to completion. Keith does not appear on this EP since he was not in the country. p16 wrote the lyrics for Modern Day Prometheus and provided chorus vocals. ]

14. FXXXXXg up Cry, Cry, Cry - end it (Johnny Cash)

[ Recorded live; 22nd of September, 2006 at Locust Lodge Campground (NW PA). Nobody really practiced for this one, and it shows. This is painfully bad and a testament to what happens when you think you can all get together in the middle of the woods and jam when know when properly knows the songs. ]
